Conehead Damsel

Hook: Mustad C53S Size 12
Thread: 8/0 Olive
Tail: Olive Marabou
Head: Small Gold Conehead
Body: Dubbed Olive Marabou
Rib: Small Copper Wire

Place conehead onto hook and tie on thread.

Take some olive marabou and tie in a tail which should be about hook length.

Tie in some small copper wire that will be used to rib the fly later.

Dub some marabou fibers onto the thread or form a marabou dubbing loop.

Wrap the dubbing forward to form a nice, tapered body.

Wind the wire forward to form about 6 to 7 ribs.

Add more dubbing to form a bushy thorax on the fly.

Pick out thorax dubbing to make the fly look bushy. This fly works great when damsels are emerging in SHALLOW water (6 ft or less).
