Crystal Caddis

Hook: Dry Fly Size 12 to 14
Thread: 8/0 Olive
Body: Peacock Herl
Rib: Green Krystal Flash
Wing: Green Krystal Flash
Post: Green Krystal Flash
Thorax: Olive Dubbing
Over Wing: 3 Hungarian Partridge
Hackle: Burnt Orange Grizzly

Tie in a strand of green crystal flash near the hook bend.

Tie in 2 to 3 strands of peacock herl near the hook bend.

Wind peacock herl with crystal flash to form a dubbing brush.

Tie in some green crystal flash to form the wing and we will use the excess to create the post later.

Take excess crystal flash and create a wing post 1/4 of the hook length from the eyelet.

Trim the wing post to about the length of the hook.

Tie in 3 hungarian partridge feathers and lay them over the crystal flash wing.

Dub in a small thorax to cover thread.

Tie in the hackle onto the post so that it can be wrapped around the post easily.

Wrap the hackle, around the post, to form a parachute hackle.

This fly is one of the BEST caddis attractor patterns out there!
