Slide bead onto hook and tie on thread. |

Take a piece of mallard, as long as the hook, and tie in for the tail. |

Tie in some small copper wire, which will be used to rib the fly. |

Tie in some black stretch flex and stretch tight so it stays thin. |

Wrap copper wire forward to form 5 to 6 ribs. |

Push bead back and wrap thread in front of bead. |

Tie in a mallard wing about ½ the length of the hook. |

Whip finish and the fly is ready for your favorite lake. |
