Mayfly Cripple
| Hook: TMC 100 Size 18-20 Thread: UTC 70 Olive Tail: Light Dun Hackle Fibers Body: Light Yellow Dubbing Wing: Light Dun CDC Puffs Hackle: Light Dun Neck Hackle |

Put the hook in the vice and bend the hook towards you, to a 45 degree angle, about ½ way up the hook. |

Take 8 hackle fibers and tie in as the tail. |

Dub some light yellow dubbing onto your thread. |

Wrap the dubbing forward to form a thin, tapered body. |

Tie in a hackle. This will be used to hackle the fly later. |

Take a CDC puff and tie in for the wing. Make sure the wing is NOT upright but flat (Parallel with the water). |

Wrap hackle once behind the wing and then the rest in front of the wing. |

Whip finish and the fly is ready for selective trout. Important Note: DO NOT use wet floatant on the CDC. ONLY use a dry floatant or you will gum up the CDC and ruin the fly. |
