Orange CDC Caddis

Hook: TMC 100 Size 12
Thread: 6/0 Orange
Body: Orange Thread
Rib: Peacock Herl
Wing: Brown CDC
Hackle: Brown Neck Hackle

Tie on one peacock herl. This will be used for the ribbing later.

Wrap thread around hook to form a thin, tapered body.

Wrap peacock herl forward to form 5-6 ribs.

Tie in 2 CDC feathers for the wing. Use a CDC wing tool, to form the wing, if you have one.

Cut the CDC wing to match the length of the hook.

Tie in a brown neck hackle.

Wrap hackle to form legs on the fly.

Whip finish and the fly is ready for those spring, caddis days.
