Tie on thread. |

Take 8 strands of partridge rump and tie in for the tail. |

Tie in pheasant tail, which will be the shellback and tie in a strand of clear mono, which will be used for the ribbing. |

Tie in some grey ostrich herl for the body. |

Wrap herl forward to form the body. |
![]() |
Pull pheasant tail over the body to form the shellback. |

Wrap clear mono over the shellback to make 5 to 6 ribs. |

Tie in more pheasant tail, at the top of the fly, for use as the wingcase later. |

Tie in one strand of ostrich herl. |

Wrap herl forward to form the head. |
![]() |
Cut a V in a partridge feather and tie in to form the legs. |
![]() |
Pull wingcase over legs/head and cut off excess. |
![]() |
Whip finish and the fly is ready. |
