Parachute Adams

Hook: TMC 100 Size 14
Thread: UTC 70 Black
Tail: Short/Fine Deer Hair
Body: Hare’s Ear Dubbing
Wing: White Calf Tail
Hackle: Grizzly Hackle

Stack some deer hair, measure the length of the hook and tie in for the tail.

Move thread forward, ¾ of the way up the hook, and tie in a calf tail wing.

Tie thread around base of wing so it stays upright.

Cut wing so it is about ¼" high.

Move thread to back of hook and dub some hare’s ear dubbing onto thread.

Wrap dubbing forward to form a tapered body.

Tie in a grizzly hackle and wrap, parachute style, around wing.

Dub more hare’s ear onto thread.

Wrap hare's ear in for the head.

Whip finish and the fly is ready to catch those selective trout.
