Slide a glass bead to the eye of the hook and tie on thread. |

Stack some fine deer hair, measure so that the hair is about 1/8" longer than the hook. |

Tie the deer hair in behind the glass bead. |

Move thread to the back of the hook and tie in some small copper wire. |

Dub in some olive dubbing for the body. |
![]() |
Wrap about ½ way up the hook. |

Dub in a small patch, about 1/8" wide, of hot orange dubbing for the eggsac. |

Finish dubbing on the rest of the body, with olive dubbing, up to the bead. |

Pull the deer hair over the hook to form the back. |

Take the copper wire and take a wrap around the back of the hook and deer hair to form the tail. |

Take 5 to 6 more turns up the hook with the copper wire making sure the deer hair stays onto of the hook to form the back. |

Whip finish and pick out the body dubbing to form legs on the fly. |

The fly is now ready for the spring and fall shrimp fishing. |
