Purple Egg Sucking Leech

Hook: Mustad R90 Size 4
Thread: 3/0 Black
Tail: Purple Marabou
Body: Purple Chenille
Hackle: Purple Saddle Hackle
Egg: Fl. Pink Chenille
Weight: 0.030 Lead


Wrap lead around 2/3's of hook.

Tie in a purple marabou tail, which should be the length of the hook.

Tie in a purple saddle hackle, by the tip, at the rear of the hook.

Tie in a strand of purple chenille for forming the body in the next step.

Wrap chenille forward to form the body.

Palmer hackle forward in about 4 to 5 segments and then wrap in a full head.

Tie in some Fl. Pink chenille and take 2 wraps to form the egg head.

Make sure you have a dozen of these patterns ready when you venture out for Winter Steelhead!
