Seal Leech

Hook: Size 8 to 12 2x long Streamer
Thread: 6/0 black or red
Cone: Medium tungsten conehead
Tail: Claret Marabou
Tail Highlights: Green crystal flash
Body: Claret seal fur with red wire

Slide tungsten cone onto hook and tie on thread.

Tie in a claret marabou tail, making it hook length.

Tie in 2 or 3 crystal flash tail highlights.

Spin a claret seal fur dubbing brush using red wire.

Tie in dubbing brush at rear of hook.

Wrap dubbing brush forward, up to the conehead, to form the body.

Pick out the dubbing until the red wire starts to show through on the body.

This fly IS my favorite leech imitation due to it's heavy conehead. You can really make it work like it leech.

Don, Great Show, have been a viewer for years. I was wondering if your going to do a pattern on mini leeches? Thanks, Al.

Hi Al,

We have tied a few micro-leeches on past shows and I think we will be adding a 'special' one in the early new year. Please stay tuned and we'll see what we will tie up....we happen to have some good ones :)

Thanks for watching!
