Terrace, British Columbia 2009

The city of Terrace is located on the west coast of central BC and is world famous for its multiple fly fishing oppourtunities.  The Skeena River flows right through Terrace and offers up every type of Salmon species, along with Steelhead, at certain times of the year.  We are fishing the area from August 28th to September 5th and targeting our two favourites, Steelhead and Coho.

We have had an exceptional few days so far with over 15 Steelhead, 40 Coho, 20 Sockeye (a few we kept to eat), numerous Pinks, 1 Chinook, and 1 Chum caught.  We are heading over to the Kitimat River today, for some big Northern Coho that can get up to 20 lbs and then heading over to the Copper River for some monster Steelhead on the DRY FLY....NICE!

Below, are some of the pictures from our adventure, so far.  The group is comprised of Dale Freschi, Rick Hansum, Kathy Riddick, Malte Juergenson, and myself.  As you will see, the Skeena fish are second to none...enjoy.

Whiteswan Lake

Don Freschi and Brian Chan fishing Whiteswan LakeWhiteswan Lake Provincial Park is located 10 minutes from Canal Flats in South Eastern B.C. There are plenty of camping spots and the fishing is second to none. We filmed for the week of June 15th and had a real mix of weather... the mornings were warm and sunny but the big rain clouds rolled in each day by late afternoon. The fish averaged 17" to 19" and were feeding heavily on both Chironomids and Mayfly nymphs. Since I was with Brian Chan, we wind drifted indicators on dry lines in about 12' of water and also moved onto the Marl flats to sight fish for cruisers. Whiteswan can produce fish well over 26", so I highly recommend this scenically stunning and easily accessible lake.
