Hey guys,

I am familiar with the lake you did this show at and it was a real treat to see this episode! Just as you mentioned in the show, it is a spot I don't get out to nearly enough. For example, I was under the impression this was a brookie lake but when I fished it this summer I only caught rainbows. Do you know if brook trout are still stocked in this lake or is it 100% rainbow stock now?

The new website is wonderful, Keep up the great work.

Hi Dave,

The lake has been solely stocked with Rainbows for the past 8 years and I have only caught one brooky in the 15 years I have fished it. The lake continues to produce quality fish and is still fun to hike into.

Don, you use to have a mini leech pattern, would you post that soon or do a show on fishing it long line style? Thanks, Love your show. Al H.

I am not sure which mini leech pattern it was but it was probably the micro leech that we tie. I'll see about posting another one very soon and we'll focus a new show on micro leeches this season.

Thanks for watching.

Awesome episode, so great to see some local lakes make it into your show. The Damsel pattern looks like a killer, can't wait to try it out. High Mountain Lake kind of reminds me of Six Mile Lake near nelson, but by the looks of it the fish in High Mountain are quite a bit bigger. I've been trying to pin point where this lake actually is, any hints?? Perhaps in the Champion Lakes area? Thanks for the info and keep up the great work!

Hi Scott,

Yes, it is very close to Champion Lakes....on the next mountain over (as the crow flies, of course).

Thanks for watching.

Hey guys,

Great episode!! I just received a 9 ft inflatable pontoon for Christmas and can't wait to get out to try it. I live in Minnesota now, I come from Cloverdale, BC and the new web site is great. I get to keep up with my favourite fly fishing show still. Last time I saw both you and Grant was at the Vancouver fly expo many, many yrs ago. Question for you guys, I have a close friend who is on the Canadian Fly fishing team for the championships being held in Roblin again this year and another who does allot of work to make it happen. Are you two going to be making an appearance or doing a show to cover the event?

Keep up the great work

Hi Brent,

Although our show format do not cover events, we would be happy to show up for a day to meet and talk with people. Let me know when/where the event is and we'll try to swing by.

Thanks for your kind comments and continued viewing.

Hi Don,

Just so you know, I am not involved with the event, was just wondering if you knew it was taking place at all. I have a link to the site if you care to check it out. http://www.flyfishingcanada.net/ Who knows, it looks like you and Grant could even be a team.

I am sure there is contact info on there and I am sure having to TV guys form a Canadian fly fishing show would be a great idea. Or, even just to go and see it. Not sure if Brian is on the team this yr. My buddy in the Parkland region is Bob Sheedy, you may have heard of him. My fiend on the team is master rod builder Mac Warner out of Sask.

Anyways, check it out and maybe I might see you there if I can get the time off work down here.

Hi Don,

If you go to flippr.ca you can find out lots of stuff about those Manitoba Parkland lakes and perhaps you should pay a trip there and film a show on big tiger trout on bass poppers! Phil Rowley is hosting a trip there in early June and it sure looks inviting but then I would miss my annual sabbatical to the Interior!

Flippr has done a fantastic job up there in the parkland region. I fished Goose a few yrs back with Bob Sheedy and Mac and the last trout I saw I was on the boat dock and it snapped my 2x tippet like a piece of thread and made about 5 jumps out into the lake while giving me the fin. I want to go back and try Patterson

Sorry, typo there. I was wading the boat launch.

We fished Thuya Lakes near Little Fort, early June 2010 and this lake reminds me of Little Dum Lake. Fishing was slow, but we struck some good size rainbows on chironomids. Not the easiest lake to fish, as there are a lot of dead-falls extending well into the lake. It actually has bigger fish than the main Dum Lake to which it is connected by a small stream.
I see that Thuya Lakes Lodge is up for sale, not sure why as the guy who owns it only bought it 3-4 years ago.
