Wow, great show you guys. Thank you for being so informative! I'm definitely going to have to give Whitetail Lake a try!!

Whitetail is a great trophy lake but does get very busy. It is a big lake so there is plenty of room, especially down at the far end AWAY from the campground. That East Kootenay region has some of the best lakes in Canada!

The new series are scheduled to start this March on WFN but still not sure when they start on CHEK. I'll contact our marketing group to see what they have to say.

What time of year did you fish Whitetail? When is the best for big fish?

January 27, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterGlenn

what year was that? and what was the fly?...... muddler with white marabou, or what was the white marabou comment at the end "as fast as you can"

The best time to fish Whitetail lake is late May to early June. The weather can be crazy but the fish are hungry and are feeding heavily on the shoals. The lake does receive plenty of fishing pressure but there are lots of good spots/shoals around the lake.

The comment on the White Marabou Muddler we fished was 'move the fly as fast as possible' if you want to attract the BIG fish. They loved that fly stripped or dragged FAST!
