Looks like you hooked into lot's of nice fish, i'm wondering if you have tried floating lines with a 12 or 15 feet sink tip. I have some but have not tried them yet, and i'm wondering if i could use them instead of a full intermediate line or if they would even work for lakes. you show is great it helps me learn a lot, as i'm only 14 and just started flyfishing/tying last year. The sight is extreme handy because i don't have a TV.
Thanks, Steven
Hi Steve,
Sink tip lines work well in lakes and can be substituted for clear intermediate sink lines in certain situations. Sink tips can be useful when fishing chironomids, leeches, mayflies, damsels, and to imitate emerging sedge. You just have to remember that you will be covering more of a vertical zone with the sink tip, than the horizontal zone you would cover with the intermediate sink.
Thanks for watching and great to hear you enjoy the site.
